Lists

Is there a way to highlight a paragraph that is mixed with numbers and letters like for medications 1. Atorvastatin, aspirin, 2. Meloxicam, etc., have it left justified and then changed into a numbered list? Also, same with highlighting paragraph and putting those same items into list format?
