Scroll wheel versus down 5/up 5 - a new discovery!

I have been using the "down 5/up 5" method for scooching the text up a bit since the '80s, with every text expander I've ever used. I've loved having a convenient way to view more text without having to reach for the mouse. But the down side to that was that the "down/up" method only works if you are actually within the parameters of the shortcut. In other words, if the shortcut is going down 5 lines, then up 5 lines, but you are 6 lines from the bottom, then when you trigger the short, the text doesn't move.

For various reasons, even if you're not near the bottom of the page, sometimes it's still helpful to see what's below the page boundaries, or maybe even the preceding text. I am LOVING that the scroll wheel method of going down and up now gives me that option! I have dedicated the single short "d" (for "down") to my down scroll, which scrolls down 5 times. "D- is a second short that gives me options to keep scrolling in either direction, which I don't use as often, but is also very handy. I'm so happy!

Thank you, Marsha, for posting your original question. And thank you, Emmanuel, for reminding us about this magic trick that has been in our arsenal since the beginning of time (well, nearly!), and is oh-so handy!!!
