How to make a command repeat

I'm using GearPlayer4 and I have hot keys in place for Volume Up, and Volume Down. I would like to make a command for each that will let me repeat it as many times as I want to reach the desired volume level.

I am a long-time IT 7 user, just trying out IT 9,and I did have something set up way back using pick list, I think, but they don't work now.

My GP4 hot keys are:

Volume UP: Ctrl Alt F10
Volume DWN: Ctrl Alt F9

I'd really appreciate some guidance. I looked at Snippets, but find that rather confusing on just my third day of using IT9.

PS: What is the Volume command in the Edit Glossary Entry window used for? What volume does this control?
