Exact same problem.

I work in SpeechMotion M*Modal Editor (transcription module part of Chartnet). I too am having the little rectangles here and there, sometimes after periods, sometimes in the middle of an expanded phrase.

I have been using IT7 since I started with the SpeechMotion, and it worked perfectly. However, I've started having this issue only AFTER upgrading to the latest version (Pro Version 7.20, Built 2011-11-04). Version 7.1 (unknown what the build date is) worked perfectly in Chartnet/M*Modal.

Interestingly, I did check to see what the rectangle looked like when rendered, and it consists of a lower case i with an umlaut (two dots over top) squeezed together with a subscript-type 3/4 symbol in a single space. All of this constitutes what the rectangle gives instead of a "space." Either backspacing or highlighting and deleting the rectangle works, and it must be deleted because it is not a space. I did make screen shots of what that rectangle looks like in the platform and saved it.

By the way, IT 7.2 works fine with Word and the other programs I use it with. It's just Chartnet and M*Modal editor where it's a significant problem.

I suppose I could "downgrade" back to 7.1 (saved that in separate folder, thank God).
