Removing digits in shorts

I have attempted to use Workshop to remove digits in shorts in a glossary. A message box appears that asks me to "select a glossary to open." I do that, i.e., currentglossary.glo. As soon as I have opened that glossary, I get a message that says "Conversion of the glossary is completed. The resulting glossary can be used as the starting point of other transforms. You can also save it in its current form: currentglossary.glo(1)" with an "OK" button to enter. I hit "OK" but I am confused about the message. Did the conversion create a new glossary named currentglossary.glo(1)? If it did, I cannot find it, and it appears that the currentglossary.glo file that I wanted transformed still has digits in shorts. What am I doing wrong?
