Inscribe and IT

I am using Inscribe system with IT 7. On my windows 7 computer, it works fine. On my Vista computer, though, it will work as far as expanding and linking inside Inscribe, but when I go to backspace, I hit the arrow once and it backspaces 2 spaces. How can I stop this? I have tried changing the order of which I open the 2 programs up and still the same. When I close Inscribe, and just type in Word and backspace, it is fine. Any ideas?
