I have the same problem

There are many times when I press the expander key and rather than inserting the proper characters, it erases a few characters (usually 2) and stops. At that point, if I simply delete the wrong characters that are now on the screen and redo the code again, it doesn't do anything. It is as if it is stuck expanding but can't get out until I press escape. This can happen once in 10 minutes or more often. Like you, I thought it was my typing or my keyboard, but I came to realize that there is some other problem. I already checked the solution offered by Kristen and it does not change things. If anybody has any ideas it would be appreciated.
