Adding entries to glossary

I use IT 5.44 and also am trying the trial version of IT 7 Pro with Chartnet. It works beautifully except when I try to add entries to the glossary. When I highlight the words to be added and press ALT =, the long and short forms of the entry come up with some sort of extra numbers and code before the actual entries. Every time I want to add something I have to go in and delete all this. Are you having that issue at all, and if so is there a fix? Thank you.
