hyphenated words

I just loaded IT V last night. I haven't decided between Word or WP9 (diehard WP51 with PRD fan up to now), so am playing with both. I imported my PRD glossary with no problem and compiled a few others. Have read the messages about -year-old, (AGES glossary, auto correct solutions) but didn't see anything specifically about hyphenated words, i.e., well-developed, above-mentioned, etc. Of course, I might have been scanning the messages too quickly. In PRD, I used "wdh" and "abmh" (h at the end to indicate hyphenation) to keep the words together. I typed it exactly as I wanted it in WP9 using CTRL+- and saved to IT with formatting, but it did not work correctly.
