Hello Pam,

What school do you recommend?

I am a very happy graduate of M-TEC, which is one of only a handful of respectable distance learning schools. Andrews is another school I would have no hesitation in recommending.

Did you find a course with an internship to be of value? Which one?

M-TEC believes its graduates are ready for entry-level positions and no longer offer an internship. They do, however, have an extensive list of employers who are willing to waive the usual 2-years (or more) experience requirements to allow M-TEC grads to test.

Would you recommend working online, or study offline?

Not having studied online, I can’t really answer that one. I did attend the weekly online (voluntary) classes the school offered,
though, and they were valuable experience.

I suggest you post your questions on other boards too (this one is specifically for Instant Text users, although most of them happen to be MTs). I would also recommend your friend solicits opinions from grads of the schools she is interested in rather than just students. Most students love their schools and are not in a position to know whether the education they are receiving is actually good enough until they get out into the workforce. Grads can let you have the real low-down. ;-)

Good luck to your friend,

MarieR
