Command entries to insert a file

Hi,

Launch commands would not be the solution here, as it sounds like what you need is a command to insert a specific file into an opened document. Is that correct?

The first question we would need to answer is how are you inserting the file exactly? In other words, what are you clicking on in Word (step by step) to access the Insert File option and then where on your computer are you navigating to access your file?

As long as there is a keyboard short cut for what you want to do, then you can create a command entry for it.

For example, to insert a "Text from a file" in MS Word, you would go to Insert --> Object --> Text from File and the keyboard short cut to do this is Alt+N, J, F so the first part of the entry would look like this:
{command}{Alt N}J{Wait}100{/Wait}F

The next step would be to add command entries to navigate to the folder/file you want to select in Windows Explorer.

Kind regards,
Kristen
