Ctrl+/G is the Answer

It does work as long as you hold the Ctrl while you type the G: In other words

* press Ctrl
* press / and release /
* press G and release G
* release Ctrl

Alternatively, as the help says, you can do Ctrl/ and then CtrlG

I'd like to make a suggestion for the next version that we have an option to automatically reopen a glossary every time we select it.

You mean, reopen ALL glossaries? (Since reopening the glossary together with its includes is already what you get if Optimize Glossary Reloads is unchecked.)
