Problems getting IT7 Pro to attach to Word

I own IT7Pro and I'm using Word in compatibility mode. This is a laptop I recently obtained so I'm trying to get used to it still. I have no idea why I can't get the IT7Pro to work with my program. It's as if they are not communicating with each other at all.Please help. Thanks!
