IT and Windows Remote Desktop

We are currently logging in remotely through Windows Remote DeskTop into Chart Access and find that any expander with punctuation or a hard return is not working. It is not with the Chart Access program itself, because I tried logging in via VPN and things worked correctly. Is there any setting that needs to be changed for this to work with the Remote Desktop, or is it even compatible with this Windows program?
