I have just ordered Instant Text Pro V, although I have not yet received it. I just changed transcription jobs to one where reports are stored in Meditech. I work at home, and access the Meditech system via 56K modem (although connection, of course, is not always this fast). The hospital currently has no other type of access into the system available. On taking this job I was told we could type in Word and simply cut and paste the product into Meditech--true, but over this modem the paste process takes almost as long as it took to originally type the report. Therefore, to get a decent line count in the least hours, it is actually faster to type in Meditech. Thus, I ordered IT to be able to use expansion capability within Meditech.
Now, however, it occurs to me that perhaps the expansion capability will be slowed down due to processing over this slow modem connection as well. Do you have any idea how efficiently IT will work with Meditech in this environment? I would sure hate to have paid the $189 and not have the program provide the increased production speed I am hoping for.
Thanks for any input!
