Dawn - Most of your questions are answered in an easy-to-read fashion in the IT manual. For example, converting IT's auto abbreviations to the ABCZ system is described there (it's done in the Importer/Workshop). Your second set of questions is addressed in the "includes" function. The options for doing that and the various ways it can be handled are in the manual, with lots of examples. You only type the marker key at the end of the abbreviation. That's what sends the signal "go ahead and expand." I use the semicolon to expand phrases and the single quote to expand words because they are both on the home row and, for me, much easier and faster than reaching somewhere else. Best of luck in learning IT - I love it, but the manual is "required reading" for fully realizing IT's power. Pam
