Another solution: Associate .glo extension with WordPad
Google is really a gold mine. Searching this time for "default .txt extension" I found the following thread where they have a similar problem for files with a .java extension.
One solution recommended in that thread is to make sure that .glo files are always opened by WordPad (or NotePad). Below is a transposition of their description where I replaced ".java" by ".glo"
- Double click on a glossary file, for example on MedStart.glo. If your PC has never encountered the .glo extension before, you'll see an Open With Window.
You can use this window to associate the .glo extension with your chosen word processor (WordPad):
- In the description of '.glo' Files text box, enter
Glossary source files.
- In the 'Choose the Program You Want to Use' list box, scroll until you find the word processor you use to make Glossary source files (WordPad).
If you don't find it, select 'Other' and find it manually.
- Make sure that the 'Always Use This Program to Open This File' option is selected/checked
Now that I think about it, this may be the reason why WordPad does not add the .glo extension for Marie's files.
