Didn't know if there were any of you editing speech recognition but I have been for almost a year now. At first, I thought it would render IT useless, but once again, IT does increase productivity.
After you have edited for a few weeks, you will begin to recognize all those redundant mistakes that cost you a lot of time blocking, deleting, backspacing, etc. I have built a ton of macros in IT which perform functions such as deleting small words, such as "it, as, on, not, he, she, and" etc. and changing them to whatever the SR system repetitively mis-transcribes.
I also have macros for deleting one word forward, two words forward, three words forward, etc. and the same for deleting words backwards; all macros named with just a two or three letters, which saves using the Ctl, Alt combinations and several keystrokes. For mis-transcribed punctuation, I also have macros that back up and add periods and capitalize the next word and visa versa, deleting periods and removing capitalization; also, macros to remove periods and add commas.
For those who haven't done SR work yet, this probably doesn't make a lot of sense, but for those who are doing SR, start making a list of the repetitive errors you are continually having to correct and start building those macros! IT will enhance SR productivity!
