Yeah, I've played around with that.

I can script a command:
{Ctrl Alt Shift O}c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe{Enter}
with the hotkey combo Ctrl+Alt+Shift+O assigned to WebOpenHyperlink in Word, and that will bring up a confirmation dialog box in which I need to Tab, Enter to confirm I want to run an executable. Then Cmd.exe opens.

However, there is no way to program a wait command of some kind to add the Tab, Enter to dismiss that question dialog box from within the script, so I can come close to opening the command window from Word using an IT short, but I can't quite do it.

What I really need, though, is to be able to talk to Windows Start>Run from an IT entry, and then the sky would be the limit. Rats. It's tantalizing to be so close to adding to much power to an IT short without being able to actually do it.
