Could use some help...sm

I am having a problem when using IT pro with Word 97. It seems to be affecting my macros somehow. This just started happening recently & I have not changed anything recently that I think would have resulted in this problem. It only seems to be affecting my macros which have sub- or superscripts in them. Once I enter the macro and hit the space bar or any other key, the sub- or superscripted numeral changes! Weird! Any ideas why this may be happening? Also, is there a way to enter subscript, superscript or symbols into glossaries? I can't seem to find how to do this? Thanks a million!
