IT is slowing me down?! Help!

Have been using IT for about 3 days now. I just finished 4 hours of work at half the production I usually do. Is this standard when starting to learn IT?

I made a glossary for my Radiology account from a couple of months worth of work. It is only 466 KB, is this too small?

I also have a slight problem when on occasion I try to expand a phrase for example pf (pleural fluid). It is listed as #1 on the phrase advisory but when I type pf1; i get a completely different phrase?

I've read everything at IT's site from "users", tips, etc. I guess I need some more help, tips, etc...cuz this program is wearing me out.
