IT and Word 2000
Hello Jean and Marianne, Now that I have started using Word 2000 (rather than my beloved WP9) I have found a really annoying problem. It seems you cannot link IT directly to Word 2000 so that it is linked to any open document. Rather, you have to link it to a particular document, and every time you open a new one (or switch between several open docs) you have to relink IT. This is pretty inconvenient and yet another reason for me to dislike Word for transcribing -- arrgghh! It didn't happen with Word 97, and it certainly isn't a problem with WordPerfect. I notice that Word now produces an "application button" on the task bar for each document open, which it never used to do. I know MS Outlook behaves in this way, but it is far less of a problem than when transcribing. I know it is not your fault -- it didn't happen with the application that was in existence when you wrote IT. I don't know what the chances are of you being able to "fix" this, but I hope it's possible. I only wish I had the choice of NEVER using Word, but as I, and many other MTs, often have to, it would be great to have this fairly serious problem taken care of. Thanks for any help/hope you can offer. :) MarieR
