I think the answer to your question is yes; everyone does have to look at the advisory window a lot at first because it's new and it's there! It's all part of learning IT.

As you become familiar with the program and gain more confidence you'll find that you spend less and less time looking at the advisory. At some point you'll hardly know the advisory window is there except for a cursory glance now and then.

I worked for a long time without the advisory window at all, but now that my glossaries have grown so much I keep the advisory at three lines in order not to miss any of the continuations or new entries.
