Thank you! Using both methods & getting adapted quickly!
Thank you for the post Marianne, as well as the e-mails. I appreciate your time and suggestions very much! Just knowing that the Microsoft Word Autocorrect feature can continue to work as always has helped in planning the transition phase for learning Instant Text while also staying ahead of deadlines. I did my work today with little difference in speed, using a combination of my usual autocorrects along with the Instant Text features. For now, I am leaving the autocorrects in place, expanding those with the space bar (or punctuation) as before, and also have the standard marker keys ([ or ;)for the Instant Text. I am also already getting used to and loving the automatic spacing feature - that will be terrific for me. I am forever spacing too few or too many, so this will be a big help to me. I think for me the adaptation to Instant Text will be a little each day, and I am off to a smooth start. Thank you for the initial set up suggestions. Today I am finding no time difference in productivity, and this is my first full day of use! I had read some posts in which new users felt slowed down at first, so I feel that today's "same as usual" pace was very good! I think this is because I am attempting to pick up on some, but not all, of the possible word and phrase choices, while continuing to get the work done with the help of the autocorrect as well. I can see it will get faster a bit at at time, which is typical for me. I am also adding words to the glossary, some here and there. So, all in all, I would say I "broke even" on the speed for day one, and that in a few days, I should start to see an increase. This is a good way to stay up with the deadlines while starting a new program! The set up was very straighforward. I had taken the time to read quite a bit first, and it came together pretty quickly after that! I have one base glossary with MedPhrase5 and MedWords4 and Drugs Glossaries done as "includes." Thank you for your suggestions on the initial setup as well! I'm having fun!
