Here is a question I am getting all the time: How do you backup or copy glossaries?

To backup or copy glossaries, always use the Windows explorer.

There are several possible techniques and the following is often the simplest:

Step Comment
1 In the Windows Explorer, highlight the name of the glossary you want to backup.
2 Right-click and select Copy
3 Go to the destination folder or floppy drive in the Windows Explorer
4 Right-click and select Paste

For step 1, you will find the glossaries in the folder InstText\Glossary. If you want to backup all glossaries, you can highlight the folder name itself.

You can use the same procedure to restore glossaries.

Note:

Always use the Windows Explorer for backup. Copying by loading in another program (such as Word or WordPerfect) runs the risk of modifying the glossary by adding internal codes that make the "copy" unusable by Instant Text.
