Extra space after command prompt IT entry

When I use a command option when creating an IT entry--in this case I am setting up an entry to place the letter M on a line and then arrow down to the next line--it will then put an extra space at the beginning of that next line. I have had this problem before but can't remember how to fix it! My version of IT is up to date with the May '07 build.
