Getting a word to show up

Help!! I have words that show up when I have my glossary viewer open and do a search, but when I am typing and use the correct abbreviation, I do not get those words....to be specific- flaxseed oil-I type fo and it does not show up like it shows in the glossary viewer. Am I doing something wrong?
