How do I create a macro for pause to use in word?

I have been trying to create a macro in word so that I may have a symbol
in my templates, and have the macro find it as an insertion point. Smart type has it built into their program but I know that you can do it with Word, I just don't know how.

I have been trying to figure out how to do this macro for word 2000 and I don't quite understand how.It seems more complicated than it probably is and I know that it is possible.

This would be a very useful tool to have. If you don't mind could you explain in detail how to make this macro step by step? I use word all the time but have never done a macro. I always use autocorrect.

YOu have a message listed for the equivalent of pause but I don't know where to start in producing the macro.

The following is what I want to end up with but how do I get there?

So you expand this entry as usual and then type Ctrl& after having defined a simple macro that looks for the first &&& in the document and selects it. Then you can directly overtype the replacement and Ctrl& again for the next one.

The last &&& is to make it easy to get to the end of the expansion but you could also do Ctrl+End.

With this solution, you need only one macro if the convention is to use always the same &&& for pauses in all such entries.
