IT sometimes does not work in template

I have made templates for all my doctors. I have added fields in the address, name, and Dear ____ spots.

My problem is when I jump from field to field sometimes IT does not give me any advisories. For instance when I move from date seen to Dear ____. I type "dred" for my doc and it appears as if IT is paused and has no advisories (though it worked fine on the line before) As soon as I hit the escape key and then try retyping I am set to go.

I also have a field to jump to the body of the text. When I do this I also get no advisories when I type in my shortcut. (again it is almost as if I have turned it off, though i have not hit the escape key nor shift + space).

It may happen in different spots on different docs (not sure as I have so many docs), but usually in the field areas. What am I doing wrong?

As I say, once I hit escape, I am all set and advisories start coming up again but this is frustrating at 2 out of every 5 fields I use.
