When you expand your command entry, as Instant Text cannot talk to itself, it instead "talks" to your program and tells your program to perform a specific function, in this case the "Alt." function.

If your short form for this command entry is "kk", when you type "kk" and expand, you will not get the letters "kk", rather you will get the "Alt." function; the magic period.
