Help with "always on top"

The only program on my computer that I link IT with is Word 2007. I generally have a few different programs running at the same time. When I switch (alt-tab) to a program other than Word and then back to Word, sometimes IT does not "follow" and I have to alt-tab until I see IT again and Word.

I tried selecting the "always on top" option in IT, however, that makes IT ALWAYS on top of EVERY program, even though it is only linked to Word.

Is that how it's meant to behave or is there another setting somewhere that I need to look at?
