Read Only

I have been having problems with IT settings not holding and read Marianne's reply to another post regarding this which was to change all the Instant Text properties to "unset" read only. I did this and it will not stick. After I click "Apply" and go back into the Instant Text properties, it is back to "Read Only". What am I doing wrong???
