I would have to research it again to set this up, but when you do a "reveal codes" or show hidden codes in Word there is a symbol that designates whether a line is counted or not. I have my templates set up to already count the lines (and all the lines typed after the heading) and then created a macro with the symbol representing skipping a line. Therefore, at the end of the report my lines are already counted. This has become a huge timesaver. You might want to research it and give it a try. I would call the technical support of Word and ask them about this. To "reveal codes" you click on the paragraph symbol on the tool bar. The lines that are counted have a paragraph symbol after them. Those that are not have a black box before the paragraph symbol. I hope this helps. I had to copy this "no count" symbol from another document. If you can figure out where this originally came from I would be very interested.

Thanks and Good Luck,

Maureen
