IT linked but not working

Not sure exactly what's going on but i have my IT linked to word any my glossaries are open but nothing is happening when I try to type something. Haven't used this one for a while, it's on my laptop and I'm having issues with my desktop so need to use the laptop. It worked previously. Just installed Windows 7 but that's not supposed to be an issue. any ideas?
