Jon, Jean... and anyone else interested.

Unfortunately, or fortunately, however you look at it I suppose, my one HUGE glossary is a compilation of hundreds of x-ray reports from one radiologist, so I practically know what he will say before he says it. I also include clinic glossaries with the x-rays because they are the same hospital, docs, etc. I also type for a couple of clinics and they do the same, the normal thing, so of course my percentage is going to be high.

But... I am an old holdover from PRD and I use the space bar, Jean will never get me to switch, and I still do a lot of memorization for my shorts and I do actually use words but that took a while to have my word marker be instantaneous. I don't use the ABCZ thing, but I do use the first letter of words for very long sentences. I save lots of page-long normals and find it faster to then just go up and change whatever differences there are, usually minimal.

I totally agree with Jean about "pausing" to glance at, or actually have to read glossary lines, to get the right one and still saving lots of keystrokes and that methodology still saving keystrokes.

Sorry if this sounds kind of rambling, Jean reprimanded me for not replying sooner. I really wanted to think about this and give you my best answer but this is the best I can do right now. I do think though that those of you who type for "lots" of different people can't match my keystrokes simply because I type for 3-5 people and you may type for 50. Also, my glossary needs some housekeeping, which is on my agenda, and I probably utilize very little of what is actually in it.

I really must cut this short, but I thoroughly enjoyed the conference in Dallas, even though I hate Dallas. Jean and Marianne are a pleasure in every sense, couldn't have been nicer, and I did want to show them a small piece of Texas that most people really believe about us... and it is true. We wear chaps and spurs, dip snuff, and ride horses, and now Jean does as well...

I will try to be a better "member" of the IT Forum from now on.

Cassie
