DocQScribe - control + space - command entry

I've searched the forums and found one that seemed to fit my question, but I've tried and tried to get it to work and can't.

The question is using audio in DocQScribe w/out a foot pedal - which I do. In DQS the function is "control space" to start and stop the audio.

This is the forum answer I found -

If your platform uses a keyboard shortcut that is also a shortcut in Instant Text, the work around is to create a command entry in Instant Text to launch the platform keyboard shortcut. Just be sure to insert a trailing underscore at the end of the Command entry.
Your command entry in this case should look like:
{command}{Ctrl+Space}_
Kind regards,
Kristen

The person asking the question says he got it to work. Like I said, I must be not entering the command right or something. Please help. Thanks
