Why not make a "sig" entry for your signature?

The current IT V design is the result of a trade-off: it tries to keep to the magical minimum of 2 keystrokes what is needed to add a new entry. So it copies the highlighted entry to the clipboard and pastes it into the glossary editor.

In the process, it overwrites what you currently have in the clipboard - as you said - but why should you care? -- The clipboard is no good place to store things that you want to reuse. It is volatile by nature and you should only store very temporarily there.

The solution is to create a sig entry for your signature and edit it whenever you handle another doctor. I use similar variable entries quite often, for example, I have one for today which I change daily as the name indicates.

Most items of a glossary are permanent but nothing prevents something like sig which is for an hour or two. I am sure someone will suggest another good idea.
