Jon,

Your empathy with my "growing pains" from PRD to IT is appreciated. In retrospect, it is amazing we functioned fairly well with the limitations of PRD and, even more amazing, survived what I thought was the end of my MT career--giving up WP 5.1. At the AAMT convention recently, I heard several MTs anticipating that change with absolute horror, and I could well remember those feelings. I am also anxious to check out your related link as that link was new to me.

I also appreciate that you're reading the column. Most of my recent grads tell me they have read both columns and appreciated them, but they're probably still a little scared to post a response.

My columns will probably be most beneficial to new IT users because I plan to share the information in bite-sized pieces. I wholeheartedly agree on the necessity of a system that works or modification of an existing glossary. My personal glossary has around 10,000 entries, and I did share that glossary with my students as they entered their internships. It will be interesting to see if that was a mistake or a help. A couple have already emailed me that it's the most used reference they have. Time will tell if that's a good situation.

Again, thanks for your response. I look forward to checking out ABCZ Software.

Sharon
