You are most welcome for the response.

It sounds like you are off to a good start. There are so many ideas here to absorb, I agree. The good thing is you can get started with just a rough plan, and then refine it over time as you get more ideas. It can be a gradual growth as you feel ready.

I think importing your current files from prior habits is a good idea. Plus with the client glossary you have already made, you will start to see the benefit of having phrases offered too, not just a word advisory. It seems that making use of phrases gives a big boost to productivity.

If you don't already have this, in that personal glossary you make for just you, I would put common phrases in there that get used for just about every work type. Since you have not used phrases much up until now, you may find an immediate benefit for doing this. Mine has things like:

ito = in the office
ito = in terms of

asap = as soon as possible

awa = as well as

itm = in the meantime

wrt = with regard to
wrt = with respect to

otr = on the right
otl = on the left

pfft = please feel free to

tyf = thank you for

att = at that time
att = at this time

Additionally, remember that the MS Word autocorrect feature (or Corel Word Perfect QuickCorrect feature) works right along side Instant Text quite compatibly. So if you have some corrections stored in your autocorrect, you can continue to use those with the usual space bar or standard punctuation expansions, while also using your IT with the marker keys. I was very "hooked" on using my autocorrects, and I kept that habit going while adapting as a newbie to Instant Text. I did not "import" my autocorrect file, I simply kept using it as is, since that was my habit at the time. This made for a smooth transition between old habits and new ones. Gradually I have forgotten most of my autocorrect expansion short forms, and I now achieve the majority of them by way of the Instant Text. However, a few are still old ingrained habits, and I still get these few to expand with the autocorrect method.

The Autocorrect (or QuickCorrect) feature has its limited file size, tendency to corruption, need to back up, and necessity to memorize short forms, so it can only be useful within limits compared to Instant Text which is virtually limitless, consists of stable files, and is very flexible in adapting to many potential uses, but it is nice to know you can use your autocorrect as an extra accessory tool and that it is compatible with Instant Text. For the most part, I just use it for spelling corrections, like for my most common typos, etc. by this point.

Enjoy the transition, it is very worthwhile!
