IT on Treo 700p

I finally gave up on IT Mobile on my Treo - one character would be interpreted as two (ie a -> aa) and would give me some phrases, but that wasn't very useful. Did a hard reset and tried again w/ minimal changes - no luck. The other option - TextPlus seems to work but I think it was causing lockups / crashes and so I stopped using it as well. Too bad the authors of this software won't do a little testing.
