Normal.dot and Autocorrect

I have the following sympthom: users can not change setting in the autocorrect options ... (ex: "Correct TWo INitial capitals" ...). Every time they close and open word the original settings are restored. Where does these original settings come from?

I searched in the registry, searhed in the group policies without success.

I noticed, if I delete the normal.dot the problem disappears.

It looks like it is stored in the normal.dot. How can I change this behaviour? Unfortunately I can not delete the normal.dot as there are many modifications in it, which are used by quite a number of users.
