How to merge?

Stuck on remembering how to merge the name and address onto letters. I know I need the letter in one file, and the list of name/addresses in another file ... but then what? I do know there's a way, but can't find more info. FYI, I do have Cheryl Flanders' Tips 'N Techniques. I'll do it in Word.
