I have had major problems installing Stedman's spell checker since I foolishly installed MS Office and Word 2007 on top of my old MS Works with Word 2002. I have been on the phone to three levels of tech support at Stedman's. They finally said, I would have to wipe my hard drive and reinstall everything from scratch. I just spent $280 on new software and shop fees for my laptop computer. I can't really afford to put my desktop PC into the shop right now. Also, I don't want to be rushed into deleting my folders and files (the redundant ones) and backing things up to portable hard drive (too much confusion) and I have out-of-town family here for a visit.
The company I work for does not insist on Stedmans products. I am wondering if there is another spell checker I could purchase to install where Stedman's failed. Can anyone recommend another brand of spell checker that is good? Do you see a problem with me doing this?
Maybe I can find out that allows a 14-day trail period?
