there's absolutely nothing listed in my add-ons.

Just for the heck of it, I checked off the "Attach" button next to where it said what the document template was and made sure it was my Normal and tried to type in it again and I really think that might have done something because the few lines I typed came out okay. I'll know better tomorrow when I'm actually working in it. Thanks for your help. I hope this worked! It's been so frustrating!
