QuickWords

In WP 10, is there any way to use QuickWords at the end of a sentence with a period, without having to hit the space bar and then go back and put a period? When I type a QuickWords entry, a period and then the space key, it will not type out my entry. I have to hit the space bar and then go back and put the period.
