Still cannot figure out how to do this

Is it possible to include blocking of text (F8) when making a macro, in WP9. It works when I'm not making a macro, but as soon as I try to record a macro, it doesn't work (text won't block). I can't find anything on this anywhere? If anyone has experience with this, any insight would be much appreciated. I use this feature in Word for a lot of macros to take out text.
