WP 9 timed backup not working

I've just lost an entire morning's work because WP 9 shut down unexpectedly. When I reopened it, there was no timed backup. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a setting in IT 5 Pro to prevent this from happening again? Could the file be somewhere else on my system?
