Thanks for the compliment!
As I look over my old posts that you linked, I realize some of them date back a ways and there have been a few changes from what I posted in those links.
I no longer have those particular clients and I have since learned how to spell accustomed. I am still not Jean's cousin, but I do consider him a friend now, along with a number of others involved with IT or with the beta testing process. It has been fun sharing ideas.
I have since made my own singles glossary and I selected that as my default singles glossary. This is a big help. I also made a glossary that is "just for me" for my own preferred words and phrases. I use that glossary for all clients, and this is ranked first in the list of includes. That way I get my own word and phrase selections first ahead of the client's glossary. These are just about memorized/second nature by now. So I now add these two recommendations to setup strategies when I share info with friends.
I use Instant Text more and benefit more now, and know the program even better. I spent the past year beta testing version V, which is awesome. I have a post on the IT Main Forum about beta testing and things I like about the upcoming version V. It was a very interesting and fun experience.
I still do use my most ingrained/memorized autocorrects right alongside the Instant Text, but the memory of many of the autocorrects I used to use has now faded, since most of them are also in the glossaries now and are easier to use from there. I don't use AutoText at all any more, having found IT to be much more efficient and versatile.
The linking steps quoted in the links were for IT Pro 3.0 since that was what I was using at the time. I am not sure if they are the same steps for IT-Pro-3.5 or not, since I only briefly used 3.5 before going to V.
For the upcoming version V, the linking is automatic and that is a very convenient feature. Likewise, adding entries to glossaries while working has become incredibly easy, with just highlighting the section you want to add, then Alt + = and Enter. That's it. Very simple.
I said I put 700 to 800 KB worth of files in a folder to make a glossary. Since then, I have tried up to 1.5 MB with IT-Pro-3.0 and it works fine. IT-Pro-V has virtually no volume limits.
I still believe that in getting used to IT at first, "you will go faster more quickly if you go slow at first," in adjusting to IT, since new habits are being formed a little each time you use it. New habits take a little repetition before they form, and a little bit of adapting each day keeps the transition stress free and the work deadlines right on time.
Thanks!
