Mr. Jones rtf;;;;;by Bill Bentsen |
I just wanted to let you know that I'm experimenting with using Instant Text as an abbreviation expander in conjunction with WP6.1 for Windows.
Although I usually use WP5.1 in DOS with Flash Forward, one of my accounts
is a pain-management doc who dictates
volumes of evaluations. I've got zillions of examples of his
several-page reports. As he says the same phrases over and over, I
figured that Instant Text would be a good choice as an abbreviation
expander, both with respect to this particular doctor but also with
respect to the
I just started learning it yesterday; however, I did have IT make a glossary of this doc's jargon by having it analyse 150 of his completed documents. One of the phrases is:
Mr. Jones returns today following completion of a trial of fluoroscopically directed epidural steroid administration
at the L5/S1 level.
You can imagine my delight when I typed: Mr. Jones rtf;;;;; and had IT complete the ENTIRE sentence by my typing: Mr. Jones + rtf + the semicolons. This completed the sentence which I started by typing rtf forreturns today following.
I think that IT and I are going to get along fabulously!
