Awesome New Product!by Marie Roberts |
I’ve had the pleasure of being a beta tester for this version, and I have to tell you, it’s soooo full of neat new stuff I don’t know where to start! Here is just a taste of what to expect in Instant Text V Pro.
Editing a glossary entry is simpler than ever. You can now easily find which included glossary an entry is in and go directly to it for editing. No longer any need to navigate to the glossary...
There are huge improvements in the Importer, allowing for lists from virtually all programs to be imported.
There is a powerful Glossary Workshop which lets you create and maintain your glossaries in a way that suits your way of working. There are lots of rules you can set, if you wish, including prefixes, endings, the ABCZ system, converting words to phrases/phrases to words, etc. Of course, Instant Text’s usual way of working is still set up for you, so there is no need to do any of this unless you really want to.
A powerful new Line Reporter to go with the line counting facility. The Line Reporter is extremely customizable and is likely to be a big hit with ICs who need to produce detailed documentation and/or invoices for their clients.
Continuations have always been great. Now they’re even better. You’ll notice even more intuitive suggestions appearing as continuations with this new version; there has never been a better time to compile your own glossaries from previous transcription.
Commands in glossary entries. This is a really useful tool. Personally, I like it for formatted entries, adding hard spaces, etc., but mainly use it for calling up macros. I love it for that.
Okay, I have to stop now. There is just soooo much to love about Instant Text V, but I’ll let you find out the rest for yourselves.
